Part of the water cycle is about cloud formation. As we looked at real clouds and pictures of clouds a lot of people in first grade started asking questions about why clouds look so different from each other. We decided to find out, and ended up doing a cloud study. We learned that there are three main types of clouds: Cumulous, Nimbus, and Cirrus.

We also learned that clouds are what give sunsets their bright colors. We got really inspired by this discovery and decided to make some watercolor sunsets of our own! Bonus: in the process, we learned that when sun sets it creates a “silhouette” of the land... here are our sunset silhouettes.
